If you are only popping in to see 'what's new,' use the current year's "Yearbook," a chronological listing of entries made this year located under Item A in the content lists below.
If you want to know something about the author and proprietor of this site, please go here for some serious bragging (added on 1 December 2012, a link to a magazine article about my family's coming to the USA).
A requiem for Sitting Bull Falls:
VERY SAD! BECAUSE OF THE 2010 FIRE, THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE WILL NOT HAVE ITS GREAT STANDS OF MATURE TREES AGAIN FOR SEVERAL HUMAN GENERATIONS!
But some of the Texas madrone trees will, apparently, come back from their unburnt roots. That will take decades, but in August of 2013 the pace of regreening was impressive.
In August 2013 I went back to check on regrowth progress, and was astonished to find these two 'dancing trees' alive, and still dancing!!
I was elated! It actually made me very happy!!
THEN CAME the SEPTEMBER 2013 FLOOD:
the flooding of 12 September did something terrible to my two dancing friends.
What I saw on my re-visit actually made me, momentarily, quite sad!!
See the 2013 Yearbook or the New Mexico page, both linked below, for photos.
Mother Nature is recovering Sitting Bull Falls, and the US Forest Service is keeping up nicely: Sitting Bull Falls has re-opened for recreational use!

The old "link-outline" is still here but not being maintained (all its listings are now part of A, B and C above).
The four home pages for the four websites I combined into one in the 1990s still exist, they serve as 'chapter headings' deeper in the site, but are no longer being added to, so there is no longer a link here: all their content has been moved onto B and C above.
