This first picture is a typical view from a north-south highway in a basin back to one of the many ranges that typify central Nevada. In this instance it is the Shoshone Range in the background, just south of US highway 50.
The next few pictures are taken from state highway 844 across the Paradise Range. The first is looking east, the second looks at the snow at this summit, and the third looks west a few hours later.
The next shot is to the east from the Paradise Range looking at impressive (almost 12,000 foot high) mountains of the Arc Dome wilderness area.
To keep this page down to size, we stop here and offer a few more pictures on the second Basin and Range page.
