Titus Canyon (again)

Part 1: Introduction and Start
![]()
Last time we visited Titus Canyon (which has a one-way road running through it) we walked in from the lower part. This walk-in visit was an attempt to look at a geologically interesting area where collapsed caves filled with calcium carbonate deposits left strange white areas in the walls.
A previous time, I had driven in and through with a carload of co-workers. That was fun.
This time I thought I would give Audrey and Aubree that same protracted fun experience. Several hours are involved. I enjoyed it/they did not. I say this only as a warning to others thinking this is a good family outing: make sure they know what they are getting into. There is literally never an end in sight, until you are finally out, of course.
So what is the point of doing this again on this web site? The long approach to the actual Titus Canyon is what I wanted to show better than before.
This will be a multi-part set of pages.

3. We visited Ubehebe Crater, a 2,000 year old volcano, the most recent one in the region!
4. Then we visited Scotties' Castle.
1. We took a walk on a salt flat just for fun.
