2. Delicate Arch

Arches delivers on its name. It has over a thousand stone arches. We saw about a dozen, and stopped to take pictures of just a few. The most famous of all is Delicate Arch (famous because it was on Utah license plates a few years ago, is on lots of travel brochures, plus the cover a famus David Muench photo- book on Utah).
We ran out of time to hike right up to it, so took some pictures from a panorama point below it:




Of course our angle is the opposite from the one in all the more famous pictures which shows the La Sal mountains through the arch. See one of those more spectacular shots for yourself here, obtained from this National Park Service website.

So, with the Delicate Arch seen in person we were ready to move to some lesser, but still impressive, arches.
